Born in San Diego, CA, Keith Fleury has been drawing from imagination since elementary school. In 2009 while living in Eureka, CA, he was re-introduced to clay and soon began wood-firing and making ceramic sculpture. He has built and fired multiple small wood kilns, and is currently a member of the Togei-Kyoshitsu studio in NYC. Inspired by animation, graffiti, pop and folk art his work is reminiscent of otherworldly toys and hyper-cute mutant dolls. Repeated forms are carved in low relief and decorated with linear patterns, symbols and shapes. His work has been shown throughout California, New York, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
